Knowledge in design, testing, troubleshooting and installation of navigational aids or equivalent technology. Knowledge with electronic test equipment and procedures to test new design concepts and ensuring product developments. Skill and ability in technical areas, including other electronic disciplines, to resolve related technical issues and provide effective technical advice and recommendations. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Knowledge of the latest advancements in the design, installation, and operation of a wide range of systems for conditioning and distributing communication, data systems, networks, and navigation. Knowledge of data communications, networks, radio navigation systems, and of CG policies and the operational environment, as well as the capabilities and limitations of electronics engineering technology and/or products, to plan and coordinate projects, provide technological advice, identify the need for new or modified technology, and address complex technical problems. Knowledge of the procurement process, Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) responsibilities, and cost estimating to plan and oversee projects. Experience providing field level support in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repair and installing navigation signal or equivalent equipment.
