1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CVHive ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of Service

CVHive is an AI-powered resume building platform that allows users to create, edit, customize, and export professional resumes. The Service includes template selection, drag-and-drop editing, AI content generation, ATS scoring, and PDF/LaTeX export capabilities.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account using Google or GitHub authentication. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Ensuring your account information is accurate and current

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive resume content
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit system vulnerabilities
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Abuse AI features through excessive automated requests
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all resume content you create using the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your resumes, text, or personal information. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service.

Our Content

The Service, including its design, templates, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by CVHive and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our templates or platform code without written permission.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to assist with content generation, rewriting, and optimization. By using AI features, you acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated suggestions are recommendations, not guarantees of employment
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content for accuracy
  • AI outputs may not always be perfect and should be treated as starting points
  • We are not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content
  • AI features are subject to usage limits based on your subscription tier

7. Subscriptions & Payments

The Service offers free and premium subscription tiers:

  • Free tier includes limited resumes, templates, and AI actions
  • Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • A full refund is available within 7 days of your first Premium purchase - no questions asked
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CVHive shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of employment opportunities or income
  • Data loss due to system failures beyond our control
  • Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
  • Third-party service outages (OpenAI, Stripe, authentication providers)

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request export of your data within 30 days of termination. We may delete your data after this period.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
