From the founder

I built CVHive because I needed it.

I'm Andrei. I was 19 when I built the first version. Year 2 of university in Romania, which in most rooms is the wrong age, the wrong country, and the wrong amount of experience for what came next.

I got accepted to interviews at Amazon. Then at Adobe.

Not because I had more experience. I had less than every other candidate. The CV I sent didn't lead with the part-time barista job, or the campus tutoring, or the internship I hadn't done yet. It led with the projects I'd actually shipped. Three lines each, every line carrying a number, a percentage, or a time-to-X.

That's the structure CVHive ships now. Project-led, not job-led. Three lines of measurable outcomes before anyone has to scroll.

Two years on, I'm 21, finishing my bachelor's, heading into a master's, working as a software engineer on a salary that surprises me for someone still in school. The structure didn't just get me in the door. It kept opening doors.

If you're in year 2 of something, university, a career switch, a comeback, your CV should look like the thing you'd want a recruiter to see first. Not the thing you're embarrassed by.

That's what we build here.

Andrei, founder. 21. Romania.

About

Resumes deserve better software.

Most resume builders charge you to download your own work, hide a watermark in the PDF, and ship a layout that the most companies use will break on. CVHive is the response to that.

The story

We started CVHive after a frustrated weekend: a few evenings of comparing resume tools, writing fake users, and uploading the same PDF into every screening system we could find a free trial for. A few patterns kept showing up.

Most builders sold a beautiful preview that broke the moment a real screener tried to read it. Most AI tools wrote prose that was too soft for a resume. Most pricing pages had a free tier that turned into a paywall the moment you tried to download anything useful.

We wanted a tool that started where the work happens: a block-based editor with an honest live PDF, AI tuned for resume lines instead of paragraphs, and based on how the big screening systems actually read documents.

What we believe

AI is a tool, not a writer

Every AI rewrite is constrained to bullet-grade output, anchored to your actual experience, and never invents a metric.

The free plan is actually free

PDF download is free, no watermark, no credit card. Premium adds power features. It does not gate the basics.

Built for how recruiters read

Hireability score, job-posting matching, and templates that suit how each industry skims a CV.

What we do not do

  • No PDF watermarks on the free plan.
  • No "free trial" that quietly auto-charges on day eight.
  • No selling your resume content to ad networks or AI training sets.
  • No fake AI that just renames your lines to sound corporate.
  • No required account just to look at a template preview.
How we score honestly

The “75% of resumes get auto-rejected by ATS” stat is a myth.

Rezi, Jobscan, Zety, and Resume.io all build their funnels on a fear that turns out to be inaccurate. The number traces back to a 2012 sales pitch by a long-defunct vendor. Yet it still shows up in every “ATS optimizer” landing page in the category.

In 2025, Enhancv interviewed 25 US recruiters across 10+ ATS platforms: only about 8% of postings enable content-based auto-reject. What ATS actually does is index and rank. A recruiter searches it for keywords, and your CV either surfaces near the top or doesn't. Auto-rejection is the rare edge case, not the rule.

So we don't sell fear. We don't tell you you're three weak bullets away from being invisible to robots. We score how readable your CV is to the systems that genuinely matter (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever), and we tell you exactly which bullets are weakening your ranking.
