Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes planning regular work assignments, preparing plans to meet substantial changes in workload, and justifying revisions in staffing levels, work priorities and deadlines; developing information and instructing students in the areas of Information Management Skills and Information Technology; issuing written instructions and standard operating procedures, and ensuring compliance; creating instructional material such as computerized exercises, memos, references, and test items; reviewing and revising course materials that include the latest developments in information systems; monitoring records of individual student grades and class averages for continual student evaluation; AND preparing formal requests for personnel action to fill vacancies; detail, reassign, or promote employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
