The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Boilermaker without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by duties such as: 1) Repairing tubes to include: removing, plugging, exchangers, preheater, and fuel oil heaters; 2) Cleaning firesides and watersides of watertube and firetube boilers, installing handhole plates and tightening or adjusting them as necessary to pass a hydrostatic test, and repairing boiler pressure parts; 3) Installing, maintaining and repairing boiler furnace refractories and burner throats, including building replacement walls.
