Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) expertise in proving fire suppression; (2) experience responding as a hazardous materials technician to incidents such as material releases, spills and weapons of mass destruction and (3) experience serving as a member of a first response team to non-fire related emergencies such as accidents and medical emergencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense, International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) equivalent certifications: (Please note: All certifications must be uploaded at time of application): Fire Officer II Fire Inspector I Fire Instructor I Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Incident Commander Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification at the Basic or higher level issued by the State of New Jersey or National Registry.
