Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. OR B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Developed and implemented historic preservation policies and evaluated treatment strategies for historic assets. Assisted in preparing and managing program agreements and mitigation plans for environmental initiatives. Conducted fieldwork to assess historic sites, prepared HABS/HAER documentation, and recommended actions to meet SOI standards. Researched and compiled resource information, prepared eligibility determinations, and drafted National Register nominations. Ensured project compliance with NEPA and applied preservation statutes to protect natural and cultural resources.
