To qualify for the SV-K Pay Band (equivalent to GS-15), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-J Pay Band or GS-14 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in state or local government or the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience is defined as: Demonstrated experience leading, developing, implementing, and administering comprehensive law enforcement and security management programs in a large geographically dispersed organization. Demonstrated experience collaboratively working across organizational lines in implementing law enforcement and security management programs. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT: This position requires the incumbent to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(9)). FIREARMS CERTIFICATION: This position requires the incumbent to carry a firearm. You must pass a certification at an interval required by the hiring/employing law enforcement component within TSA.
