SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Selective Factor: This position requires the skill of a qualified typist. To qualify, you must certify that you have the ability to type at least 40 words per minute (based on a five-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors). This skill is a requirement for this position. In addition to the requirements described above, the following additional experience is required: For the GS-07 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent; Examples of specialized experience include: Assisting in the planning and formulating of a budget including preparing budget submissions, annual operating plans, and allocating and transferring funds; preparing travel authorizations and vouchers and assist with making travel arrangements; preparing correspondence, presentations and reports utilizing software packages such as Microsoft Word; coordinating and entering time and attendance for staff following timekeeping procedures utilizing automated payroll systems; tracking and filing documents and correspondence; and ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the office. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
