You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-07: You must have at least one year of experience at the GS-06 level or equivalent that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: Examining records to recognize the fragility and characteristics of paper and other archival media and binding materials. Examples of this experience include: Demonstrating knowledge of the history of paper manufacture and assessing the condition of paper documents by describing damages through a survey or report. AND Determining vulnerable parts of records that need protection or stabilization and carrying out conservation treatments on archival records in a laboratory setting while adhering to instructions to ensure that documents are handled and treated in conformance with standard procedures. Examples of this experience include: Mending torn paper using long-fibered paper and wheat starch paste, humidification and flattening of rolled documents and fabrication of custom boxes for the storage of paper records.
