Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Providing support and maintaining integrated systems associated with aerospace research test facilities, such as high-pressure air and gas systems, vacuum, electromechanical interlock systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical controls, and instrumentation; Providing technical support necessary to ensure the operational capability of assigned facilities; Providing technical support to ensure the following of operational procedures, configuration mandates and standards of facility operation and operation of experimental devices. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Modifying and maintaining integrated systems associated with aerospace research test facilities, such as high-pressure air and gas systems, vacuum, electromechanical interlock systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls, and Instrumentation; Providing technical support to include the mentoring/training of lower grade personnel necessary to ensure the operational capability of assigned facilities; following operational procedures, configuration mandates and standards of facility operation and operation of experimental devices; Providing technical support for organizational projects and facilities, including input to test and model systems controls integration, aiding in determining test procedures, evaluating test results, and making necessary design adjustments.
