Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-11, you must have: a) You must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: Assisting in the analysis of ionizing radiation effects and/or supporting the assessment of long-term reliability impacts on complex semi-conductor materials and microelectronic device structures (e.g., MOS, bipolar, SOI); Supporting the design or interpretation of radiation-effects tests to isolate failure mechanisms; AND Testing radiation requirements and failure mechanisms against industry and military standards (e.g., JEDEC, MIL-SPEC) to support the radiation assurance for military, automotive, and industrial-grade electronic components. OR b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field OR c) Completed 3 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field OR d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Analyzing the physics of ionizing radiation effects and/or assessing long-term reliability impacts on complex semi-conductor materials and microelectronic device structures (e.g., MOS, bipolar, SOI); Reviewing and interpreting radiation-effects tests to isolate failure mechanisms; AND Testing radiation requirements and failure mechanisms against industry and military standards (e.g., JEDEC, MIL-SPEC) to support the radiation assurance for military, automotive, and industrial-grade electronic components. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Analyzing the physics of ionizing radiation effects and/or assessing long-term reliability impacts on complex semi-conductor materials and microelectronic device structures (e.g., MOS, bipolar, SOI); Designing, executing, and/or interpreting radiation-effects tests to isolate failure mechanisms; AND Evaluating radiation requirements and failure mechanisms against industry and military standards (e.g., JEDEC, MIL-SPEC) and/or providing technical expertise in radiation assurance for military, automotive, and industrial-grade electronic components.
