In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions and you must meet Facility Operations Service Series 1640 Individual Occupational Requirement. ***Salary Ranges includes local market supplement*** This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. NOTE: You must meet both the Basic Qualifications and Specialized Experience requirements stated below: BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience includes having knowledge of wide range of IT system server and integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and project management principles. Knowledge of hardware and software protocols as well as technologies and tools related to electronic attack and defense of such systems. Knowledge of a full range of IT methods, regulations, policies, products and services sufficient to develop specifications to ensure compliance with security requirements. Knowledge of system software and systems development life cycles, design development, configuration management, cost analysis, data administration, systems integration, and testing. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of IT information security requirements for JWICS for assessment and authorization, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security assessment reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advises on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews. 2. Knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry; and know ledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures for all IT systems. 3. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of IT systems and applications. 4. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information network and system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer network and systems, and optimize network and system performance; and knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize network and systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of network and hardware functions. 5. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of network and systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers. 6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and knowledge of safety and security regulations, policies, and procedures. Conditions of Employment cont'd: 1. Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoDM 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
