At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties the position. Specialized experience for this position defined as: Applied knowledge of government administrative policy and procedures for support functions, (i.e., travel, timekeeping, fringe benefits for transit benefits, procurement and the GSA motor pool program); developed and modified work methods, processes, and procedures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, effectiveness, and efficiency of agency operations and work products and services; demonstrated proficiency with grammar, punctuation, word usage, writing, and editing in order to prepare responses to a variety of complex, controversial, and/or sensitive issues, ensuring content, accuracy, proper tone and format, and technical terminology appropriate for the intended audience up to the congressional level; and managed travel, timekeeping, fringe benefits for transit benefits, procurement and the GSA motor pool programs to include non-traditional situations and needs. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
