Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Directing all work activities, such as inspection, intelligence analysis, examination, and law enforcement activities relative to the importation and exportation of agricultural and commercial commodities, and conveyances at the POE. Applying the laws and regulations of a wide range of Federal, state, and local agencies, including those relating to the admissibility of people, protection of trade, agriculture, revenue, and the introduction of harmful pests and diseases into the United States. Identifying developmental and training needs of the subordinate employees and providing guidance and training, communicate intelligence and enforcement information, disseminate new procedures and policy changes, and identifying areas of special emphasis. Making recommendations regarding significant internal and external program and policy issues regarding the management of agriculture operations at the port of entry to address regulatory changes and complexities in politics, media attention, public perception, and impact to the economy.
