Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: 1. Skill and Knowledge: Must have the ability to drain and change lubricants in crank cases, differentials, and transmissions. Knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and policies to include environmental directives pertaining to handling hazardous materials. Knowledge of equipment common to the trade. Knowledge of technical practices in order to remove, replace, and install a variety of parts. Skill in using basic tools common to the trade. 2. Physical Effort: Frequent bending, reaching, and working in awkward positions when performing work in lube pits or from car racks. Occasional heavy lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds. 3. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside. However, it is generally done inside in areas that are dirty, oily, greasy and there is constant exposure to minor cuts, bruises, and burns. Requires caution in working with moving parts during operation of equipment.
