Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have practical knowledge and/or experience of recreation activities. Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities and programs. Must be able to be certified as an instructor or guide in outdoor activities as the program requires (i.e., rafting, water safety instructor, etc.). Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience with a variety of office software is required. Must complete Standard First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of assignment. Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Certificate. Employee must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record. Employee must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance, and heavier weights up to 75 pounds with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. This is a drug-testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-I background investigation.
